I had only heard the song “The fox” by Ylvis yesterday and now I can’t stop thinking about the song . The whole song is so catchy even though the song doesn’t appear to be very meaningful. I feel that the lack of meaning( or clear meaning) in the song can be forgiven for the song appears to be made more for the fun of it then to promote a certain emotion/message. Basically, ” The fox” is just a song made to make you smile and laugh because of how funny and silly it is instead of trying to send some kind of message to you. What I especially liked about the music video is the old man reading to the child. From my perspective, it appears that the singer is remembering the old days when he was younger and his grandfather would read to him. It’s most noticeable when the singer makes the ‘fox noises’ and the old man lip sync along as if he was making the noises himself. I just find it very quirky and touching that the song might be about childhood memories .
There’s a really cool instrument that I found out about called Teacarina . It’s a mix between a tea cup and a ocarina . For those of you who don’t know what an ocarina is, an ocarina is a wind instrument that is traditionally made from clay/ceramic ( thought other materials can be used as well). The Teacarina is quite unique for its shape isn’t the one you’ll typically see nor think of. Plus it actually functions as both teacup and ocarina so you can literally play “I’m a little tea cup” while drinking some tea ! Here are two videos if you want to see for yourself:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rx63tjRbgaw. ( This first video belongs to STL Ocarina) . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFdj7dXAs4I ( This second video belongs to Michelle Tennant. In this video , you can see that they do have tea inside the the Teacarina yet are still able to play it.
The best thing yet about the Teacarina is that they are pretty cheap compared to other ocarinas ( except for the ocarinas that are made out of plastic ) and they come in a range of four colors that are quite pretty. If you want to find out more about the Teacarina you can go here : http://www.stlocarina.com/teacarina.html
Have you ever had a moment where you can’t stop listening to this one song even though you’re not much of a fan of the artist or the song’s meaning is just decent and isn’t really meaningful to you ? Well right now that moment is happening to me.The song ” Counting Stars” by One Republic is being an ear worm and is forcing me to reply that song on youtube over and over again. Strange enough, I don’t even like One Republic that much, the only song I like from them is ” Too late to apologize” ( even then I listen to that song to a minimum) . I’m pretty sure the only reason I keep replaying ” Counting Stars” over and over again is because of its catchy beat and tune .
